Hydrocephalus in children

The lecture deals with the hydrocephalus classification, clinical signs and symptoms, diagnosis and treatment options. Various imaging modalities (CT MRI, ultrasound and X-ray) are documented in plenty of images. Surgical treatment options in pediatric hydrocephalus are presented in details, comprising temporary and permanent drainage systems and neuroendoscopy. Second part of the lecture concerns with the drainage systems malfunction and indicates the solution regarding particular affected component of internal drainage system.

Congenital Abnormalities of Central Nervous System

The lecture concerns with cranial and spinal dysraphism from neurosurgery point of view, comprising the definition, classification, diagnosis and treatment of these congenital abnormalities. Namely meningocele and myelomeningocele are mentioned in details, inclusive instructive images. Second part of the lecture concerns with craniosynostosis - premature closure of cerebral sutures. Particular types of simple non-syndromic and most frequent syndromic craniosynostosis types are mentioned and documented by perioperative corrective surgery images.
