Chronic myelogenous leukaemia - chronic phase
Autor*: A. Buliková
Description:
32-years old woman with marked leukocytosis (384 G/l), elevated platelet count (802 G/l), anemia and splenomegaly. Peripheral blood smear shows neutrophils in different stages of maturation, predominant cell types are segmented neutrophils and myelocytes. Myeloblasts do not exceed 10% of the bone marrow and/or peripheral blood cells. Diagnosis was supported by BCR/ABL fusion gene finding.

Přílohy*:
CML - peripheral blood
Description: In the middle of the picture are myelocytes, segmented neutrophils and two rather immature eosinophils. Mature basophil is on the left.
Type: peripheral blood
Klíčová slova*: myelocyte, eosinophil, basophil, segmented granulocyte
CML - peripheral blood
Description: Smear shows numerous myelocytes and segmented neutrophils. One basophil at the 8 o'clock.
Type: peripheral blood
Klíčová slova*: myelocyte, basophil, segmented granulocyte
CML - bone marrow
Description: Bone marrow is hyper-cellular with granulocytic hyperplasia. Cellular maturation is normal. This point shows myeloblasts accumulation (7 at the picture), but average count of the blast is 3,6% (per 500 nucleated cells of the bone marrow).
Type: bone marrow
Klíčová slova*: myeloblast
CML - bone marrow
Description: Granulocytic hyperplasia - some eosinophils and basophils, predominant cells are mature neutrophils and myelocytes. Smear do not shows any marked dysplastic changes but one hypo-granular pseudo-pelgeroid segmented neutrophil (underneath centre of the picture at the 5 o'clock).
Type: bone marrow
Klíčová slova*: myelocyte, eosinophil, basophil, segmented granulocyte, pseudo-Pelger anomaly, hypogranulation
