43 year old 3 gravida 2 para (2 spontaneus vaginal deliveries, 1 termination of the pregnancy) is referred by gynecologist for a persisting cyst of the left ovary. She is otherwise healthy, menstrual cycle regular, tumor markers (Ca-125) negative. Bimanual pelvic examination shows anteverted slightly enlarged uterus, palpable enlarged left ovary 5 by 5 cm in diameter. Ultrasound examination: anteverted uterus, endometrium 2 mm, right ovary of normal size and shape, left ovary with an unilocular echogenic cyst 45 mm in diameter. Laparoscopy was performed. Uterus was of normal size and shape, right ovary and both uterine tubes of normal size with no abnormalities. Left ovary was enlarged with smooth white surface with a cyst. Exstirpation of the cyst was performed, it contained adipous tissue and hair, the large part of the left ovary was left intact. Histology confirmed benign cystic teratoma of the left ovary.
